I started Mercury Clothiers because of a lack of inspired options for professional women at a price point below high end designers. I'd never considered myself an entrepreneur, but the process of researching and starting a business has been an empowering and incredible experience.

I've met amazing women who are in the fashion, design, and business worlds — and discovered so many more who have trailblazed paths for female entrepreneurs. I'm excited to share my journey and the stories of many inspiring women with you — right here.

9 Self Care Tips for Summer

Are you feeling extra stressed headed into this summer? This post is for you! Click through for my top 9 tips for self care this summer! #routine #selfcare #summer

If life wasn’t hard itself, add in a worldwide health crisis — a pandemic — which has caused severe health, financial, and educational hardships. Taking care of yourself mentally and physically during times of duress is extremely important and we want to make sure you are taking care of yourself! That is why we have come up with 9 self care tips for you to do the trick this summer.

Stress, anxiety, worry, nervousness—the list goes on. You need some self care!

Self Care Tips | #1 At-Home Spa Day

Light a candle or two, run a warm bath, look out the face masks and nail polish. Treat yourself to an at-home spa day! Take a little extra time applying your conditioner and give yourself a head massage.

Purchase a head massager like this one to reduce stress and promote relaxation.

Self Care Tips | #2 Physical

While the gyms are closed, we must find other ways to maintain a healthy fitness regimen. Have you heard of the 75 Hard Challenge? Fair warning, you will find a disclaimer on the homepage that it is not a fitness program but a “transformative mental toughness program”.

It could be right up your alley, or not. Of course there are other options too.

Self Care Tips | #3 Day Hike

Fresh air and exercise are two of the best things for you. Pack a bag and go on a day hike. If you have a state or national park nearby, we suggest you call ahead to make sure they are open. Many parks closed during the quarantine period.

Being outside and immersed in nature is good for you! From absorbing Vitamin D to building your immune systems, and improving relationships, nature is a life saver [source].

Self Care Tips | #4 Eat Healthy

Although supermarkets themselves remained open and were not affected directly, the food supply chain was affected. Hence why some aisles are emptier than others.

Self Care Tips | #5 Daily Affirmations

Reminding yourself of the good things helps your mental state. This practice should be done in every season and situation. It can be particularly difficult to remind yourself of the good during Summertime. As the weather gets warmer, clothes become more scarce which can lead to you feeling bad about yourself for not looking a certain way.

We have come up with our favorite summertime affirmations. Write them down and read them silently or you say them out loud. Daily affirmations are important to keep yourself sane.

“I have a strong woman”

“I am myself and that is perfect”

“I am grateful for…”

“I don’t need to put so much pressure on myself.”

Self Care Tips | #6 Social

Get out and about. Invite a friend for happy hour or a coffee date. The simplicity of getting dressed and going out feels good. If you would rather stay home, invite a friend over and host a wine tasting or summer soiree.

Self Care Tips | #7 Intellectual

Stretch your cerebellum and read a new book or learn a new skill. YouTube is a great resource for learning a new trade. It can teach you how to use a grass trimmer and start your own radio show. What have you always wanted to learn?

Another resource for exciting your curiosity are TED Talks.

Self Care Tips | #8 Financial

Taking care of your finances might not seem like a self care tip but hear us out—having your finances in order creates great satisfaction and a clearer head space.

Budgeting and saving is a valuable self care step.

Self Care Tips | #9 Journal

Similar to tip # 5, writing your thoughts and feelings down in a journal is a strong tool for your mental health. You can look back on it and appreciate what you have overcome or recognize things that are recurring. It is a great self-realization tool.
