🎶 Cream-colored ponies and crisp apple strudels
Doorbells and sleigh bells
And schnitzel with noodles
…these are a few of my favorite things…
Remember the infamous Julie Andrews song in the film The Sound of Music?
It is one of our faves and a perfect song to channel when you are throwing a Galentine’s Day Party! You read that right.
Turn Valentine’s into Galentine’s, ladies. Make room for GALentine’s, where you celebrate love with your girlfriends.
And a perfect way to do that is to throw a Favorite Things Party.
What is a Favorite Things Party?
What is a favorite things party, you ask? Let us explain— a favorite things party is when you invite any number of friends, family, co-workers, and neighbors to a gathering and ask them to bring one of their favorite things.
The basis of the party is to expose and explore products that other people love.
You know that lipstick that your best friend has been raving about? Well, now is your chance to try it!
Invite her to the party and ask her to bring one for everyone.
This is how it works: Each guest that attends the party brings their favorite product to share with the group. They will need to bring one for each of the other attendees and when the party is over, each guest leaves with a goody bag full of new products!
Don’t forget about yourself too! You are invited to your own party. If you have 4 guests, you will buy 4 of your favorite product to give away, and one for yourself.
Note: keep the number of people you invite down as the more people you have, the more products each person has to buy. Also, be mindful of how much your favorite product costs. We suggest putting a maximum spending limit per product around $10.
Although there is a spending limit, the focus is on the product. Make sure it is high quality. You are presenting it as a good choice and perhaps a better choice than what your friends are already using so make it a good one!
Our Favorite Things Party | Galentine’s Day
We’ve taken the favorite things party concept and turned it up a notch for February’s well-known love celebration day.
Because what better way to celebrate love than with your best girlfriends. You will get some great products out of it too.
Here’s a look at how we would throw a favorite things party for Val Galentine’s Day.
Party Basics
Just like any other party, decorations are a must. Bring out the red and pink streamers! Peruse the shops for anything within the color palette, including fruit and vegetables. They make for great garnish or table decor.
Don’t forget the invitations. Whether online or in-hand, invitations are required for a reputable get-together.
Products
This is the basis of the party, so naturally they have to be good. Here are a few ideas for products that are sure to be a hit:
- Bath bomb
- Candle
- Essential Oil
- Face mask
- Skin care
- Stationery
- Home bar accessories
- Stationery
Signature Cocktail
Signature cocktail is also a nice touch. Especially for a themed party like Valentine’s. We love this recipe for a Valentine’s Day Gin Fizz found here.
The red color is very festive, not to mention the strawberry garnish on the rim of the glass. Voila!
Offer some chocolate covered strawberries for an additional special touch.
Have the drink ready-made before your guests arrive so all you need to do is pour and go.
We know you will have a blast hosting and exploring new products. It is a great way to try new things and even better if they come with such close referrals.
