I'm Marisa Corrado, and I founded Mercury Clothiers after years of wearing uninspiring suits and wondering why no one made professional women’s-wear like I saw in the movies from the 1930s, 40s, and 50s. Those movies showed glamorous, feminine, and strong women with amazing wardrobes. All of my suits seemed to be poor imitations of men’s suits, like I wanted to dress the part of a man rather than celebrate being a woman. These suits were also designed for slimmer builds and did not seem to accommodate real women’s curves.
I set out to empower women through fabulous clothes — dressing amazing women and relying on women-owned and operated businesses in the USA to develop the collection and my business.
